What are the differences between sythesized resveratrol and extracted resveratrol from roots?
Why does UltraHealth synthesize our resveratrol and not use overseas extracted bulk root fiber?
Common sources contain only a little true resveratrol; Polygonum cuspidatum, Knotweed, and Fallopia japonica. These are mostly crushed and then extracted using solvents in rural areas of China. Raw bulk matter from these plants only contain 3-8% actual trans-resveratrol. Extracted roots can have pollutants and impurities, the roots of the Japanese knotweed can take in contaminants such as heavy metals from the soil. Extracts can also contain another plant chemical, emodin, which is suspected to cause gastrointestinal discomfort and is difficult to remove. Also, the organic solvents used in the extraction process are not controlled and it is highly unlikely that food grade solvents are used.
UltraHealth designs and manufactures anti-aging products that we take ourselves as part of our daily regimen and provide to our family and friends. Selling supplements that are substandard and do not have the best bio-availability is not what we believe our customers deserve.
